We arrived in Iceland in mid-summer, when the Lupine were in full bloom. This is one of the locations we’d hoped to find while scouting the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It’s a stunning view from this little road. Beautiful purple flowers stretching as far as you can see on both sides of the road, and a pretty white church lit by the morning sun. The arctic terns were twittering away all around us, and the weather was just fine. Summer is Iceland is truly beautiful.
This is a manually blended image from 3 separate exposures. I used our iHDR workflow to blend the images in Photoshop with layers and masks. When I took this shot, the foreground and the mid ground were lit with soft filtered light through the high cloud layer, while the sky was lit by direct sunlight. I chose this composition to create a sense of distance and depth.
