In the Shadows

Hof, Iceland
We came upon these beautiful, hidden falls in South Iceland and stopped by to have a look. The sun was just coming out from behind the mountains, and it cast a soft, perfect light on the lupines.

This was a difficult spot to shoot because of the steep canyon walls surrounding the falls. I got close to a clump of lupines, and used my wide-angle lens to isolate them in the image. I chose a shutter speed that let me smooth the flowing water. I also used a circular polarizer to help bring out the rich colors.
