I love going to the Grand Tetons (Wyoming) in Fall, but I have visited and backpacked in this park in summer and the scenery is stunning at that time of the year as well. This is also one of the best places to view wildlife. In the summer, you’ll be joining a whole lot of tourists, so consider shooting early in the morning and late in the evening, when most tourists are still asleep.
I took this shot with a circular polarizer filter to help bring out the rich colors. I choose a low point of view to make the most of the textured rock in the foreground. The trees stand out against the sky because gold and blue are complimentary colors. I waited for the sunlight to help bring out the colors before taking this shot.
